Our Story

We come from two different worlds, and chance brought us together. (Okay, by chance we mean a dating app, where most modern love stories begin.)

When Simon hearted Shruti's profile, she wondered what on earth they could have in common. Simon, meanwhile, was already looking at his future wife.

Their first date was at Fidelity, now their go-to spot, much to the exhaustion of every friend they've dragged there since. From that night on, they were inseparable.

When Shruti's parents visited Dublin, Simon won them over with a few pints of Guinness, their faces printed right on top. And Shruti gained the loveliest in-laws she could have hoped for, including a mother-in-law who cooks Indian food alongside her in the kitchen.

Two of the most unexpected people, now with a house of their own in Dublin, building a home and a life together. This is just the beginning.

Friday 23 April

Baraat & Ceremony

What's a Baraat? The groom's grand arrival: a procession with drums, music and a lot of dancing, and you're all part of it. Traditionally he'd ride in on a horse, or even an elephant. We couldn't find an elephant, but Simon will still arrive in style.

Bites and drinks follow, then the ceremony: a blend of our two cultures, honouring the traditions of both our families.

Come ready to cheer him in and join the dancing.

Short break · 3pm – 7pmNothing is planned and no food is served during this time. Head back to your hotel, grab a bite, rest and get ready for the night. The party goes late!

Travel

Fly into Barcelona El Prat (BCN). Sitges is 30–40 minutes away by taxi.

By train, take the R2 Nord from the airport to El Prat de Llobregat, then change to the R2 Sud for Sitges. Allow about an hour.

Stay in Sitges. It's a short taxi to the venue, and full of great restaurants and beaches.

Shuttles

Masia Casa del Mar is an intimate venue with just six rooms, and they're already spoken for. Here are our favourite places to stay in Sitges instead, all a short taxi away. Late April gets busy, so book early.

Can I bring a plus-one?

We've included the names of everyone invited on your invitation. This weekend is a very personal one for us, and we want to spend it surrounded by the people we know and love most. If there's someone not named that you'd like to bring, just message us and we'll do our best to make it work.

Are children invited?

We love your little ones, but this is an adults-only celebration, with the exception of family.

What should I wear?

Indian dress is welcome at every event, but never required. A smart suit or a lovely dress is always right.

Where do I find an Indian outfit?

Our What to Wear guide has shops, rental options and an outfit glossary. In short: Plenty of Indian clothing shops and online retailers ship to Ireland and the UK, and renting works too. Think lehenga, saree or a flowy dress; kurta or sherwani for men. Bright colours welcome, and ask us if you're stuck!

What are the Mehendi, Baraat and Sangeet?
Mehendi
A henna celebration with music, food and drinks.
Baraat
The groom's joyful procession to the ceremony. Everyone dances!
Sangeet
A night of music, dance performances and celebration.
Day 2
An Irish tradition: a relaxed get-together the day after the wedding.
Is food served between the ceremony and the evening?

There'll be bites and drinks between the Baraat and the ceremony. After the ceremony finishes around 3pm, there's a short break with nothing planned and no food served. Head back to your hotel, grab a bite, rest and get ready. We'll see you from 7pm for dinner and a late night.

Are there any colours to avoid?

Please avoid all-white, all-black during the day, and bridal red at the ceremony. Black is perfect for the black-tie evening. Otherwise, the brighter the better.

What shoes should I bring?

Parts of the weekend are outdoors, in gardens and on terraces. Bring flats or block heels, especially for dancing at the Baraat.

What's the weather like in April?

Usually mild and sunny, with cooler evenings. Bring a light layer, sunglasses and comfortable shoes for outdoor spaces.

When is the RSVP deadline?

31 January 2027.

How do I get to the venue?
